  • The Redmond company is not providing any details on their upcoming device creation.

  • This new gadget, judging from the patent, looks a lot like Apple’s Magic Keyboard.

  • Many believe that this rumor will not come true, while others can’t wait for it to be done.

  • If the new Surface model is ready by the Fall, it could ship with Windows 11 preinstalled.

Mirosoft new device

While some people eagerly await a Surface Book upgrade, Microsoft may switch up its game entirely, with a new Pro device in the Fall.

We already know Microsoft may be looking to copy the stunning design of the Apple Magic Keyboard for their next Surface Book, going by a new patent that the company filed for.

The patent applied for on January 17th, 2020, and published on July 22, 2021, depicts a laptop that can convert from a normal clamshell appearance to a floating screen like the Magic Keyboard.

What device are we really getting from Microsoft?

A lot of voices are now saying that the swiveling screen mounted on a two-point hinge setup with stabilizing and friction assembly is the same as the Sony VAIO Duo and the iPad Pro-Magic Keyboard attachment.

And even though most of us think that this idea is farfetched and that Microsoft wouldn’t so obviously steal someone else’s design pattern, others tend to read the situation differently.

There are voices that say the design may be real, as, according to their sources, Microsoft is working on a new Surface Book with a non-detachable display of around 14 inches.

As you can probably imagine, there isn’t a lot to go on regarding the creation of a new Surface device.

However, this design, based on the patent, would allow Microsoft to beef up its processor and graphics card game without having to engineer specs around the detaching fulcrum hinge of the previous Surface Book designs.

This mysterious new device will reportedly feature a more powerful processor and graphics card, improved screen, and could come with a larger trackpad and updated Surface Pen with improved haptic feedback.

Without any other leaks except the patent, there is no project name to lean on when describing the new laptop, so we will just have to wait and find out what the future has in store for us.

As in the case of Surface releases, fans will have to wait until later this year to see if and when Microsoft rolls out its new line of Surface devices.

And, with the release of Windows 11 marked for an October/November period, it’s presumed that this device it’ll be among the first to ship with Windows 11 out of the box.
