This week, Microsoft released the first insider preview of Windows 11 to all registered users and the reviews are already in.

In just a couple of days, people have submitted complaints about Windows 11 Build 22000.51 as it came with a lot of bugs, errors, and crashes.

In addition, there are also graphics errors in the taskbar, the new settings app doesn’t start if several user accounts are stored on the updated PC and the integrated search refuses to start if you click on the search magnifier in the taskbar.

And the list doesn’t stop here. It seems like the only option Windows users have at this moment is to rollback to Windows 10 to get rid of all these issues.

So don’t panic, as we have the solution to your problem, just follow the steps below and bookmark this page in case you find yourself in this situation again.

How do I rollback to Windows 10 from Windows 11?

Use Windows Settings

  1. Click on the Start Menu and open Settings.

  2. Select Update & Security.Update & Security

  3. Go to Recovery option.Recovery

  4. Click on Go back to start the rollback process. Go back - rollback

  5. A series of pop ups will appear from Microsoft. It will ask you for the reasons you want to rollback, if you want to check for updates, that you need to reinstall the programs that you installed on Windows 11, and to remember your password as you must enter it after the rollback is complete.Microsoft rollback process

  6. Once done, click on Next, then on Go back to an earlier build.

  7. This will restart your system several times so make sure to plug it in.

  8. Sign in again with your Microsoft Account password or your system password in case you are using a local account.

  9. Once the process is complete, you will see the familiar Windows 10 login screen. Log in to your PC with your password or PIN and you’re done.

We also recommend you backup your files. While downgrading does not delete your personal data from your PC, it’s better to be safe than sorry in case something goes wrong and you have to format your drives.

If you encounter some problems and you cannot rollback to Windows 10 using these steps, there is always the option to perform a clean reinstall by using our guide.

Keep in mind that to avoid this kind of displeasure in the future, you can stop Windows Insider builds or change the Insider channel from Dev to Beta or Release Preview until all issues are fixed.

As we previously mentioned, there is no need to panic as for any problem you might have with your Windows device, we have an answer.
