Fix: Bluetooth headset not working with Microsoft Teams

Posted by   on

When I use Hands-free AG Audio, there is some static disturbance. When watching videos, the stereo option gives great sound quality, but for some reason, it doesn’t give any sound during a meeting in Teams. In device settings during a meeting, once I choose Hesh 3 Stereo, the voice just stops.

What do I do if headset isn’t working with Microsoft Teams?

1. Update Bluetooth driver

If you’re encountering a more general Bluetooth audio issue for Teams and other apps, updating drivers is recommended. You can scan your PC with driver updater software to check if its Bluetooth driver needs updating.

If so, you can also install the latest drivers with a driver updater utility.

DriverFix Updater

Drivers are essential for your PC and all the programs that you use daily. If you want to avoid crashes, freezes, bugs, lag or any other problems, you will need to keep them updated.

Constantly checking for driver updates is time consuming. Fortunately, you can use an automated solution that will safely check for new updates and apply them with ease, and that’s why we strongly recommend DriverFix.

Follow these easy steps to safely update your drivers:

  1. Download and install DriverFix.

  2. Launch the application.

  3. Wait for DriverFix to detect all your faulty drivers.

  4. The software will now show you all the drivers that have issues, and you just need to select the ones you’d liked fixed.

  5. Wait for DriverFix to download and install the newest drivers.

  6. Restart your PC for the changes to take effect.

Drivers will no longer create any problems if you download and use this powerful software today.

Disclaimer: this program needs to be upgraded from the free version in order to perform some specific actions.

2. Try utilizing MS Teams within a compatible browser

If your Bluetooth headset is not working with the Teams UWP app, you can try utilizing the Teams web app instead.

The <a class="wl-entity-page-link" title="Microsoft Teams” href=”” data-id=”;;″>Microsoft Teams web app is compatible with all major web browsers, but for the best results we recommend using Opera.

The browser is built on Chromium, which means that all your Chrome extensions will work with Opera. In addition, the software has a built-in tracking protection as well as its own ad blocker.

3. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter

  1. Launch Settings by pressing the Windows + I hotkey.

  2. Click on Update & Security.

  3. Then click on Troubleshoot in the left pane. Now click the Additional troubleshooters in the right pane.

  4. Next, select the Bluetooth troubleshooter; and click the Run the troubleshooter button.

  5. Thereafter, follow the troubleshooter’s instructions to fix Bluetooth issues.

After running the troubleshooter, check if Bluetooth headset is still not working with Microsoft Teams.

4. Make sure your microphone is enabled for apps

  1. Click the Settings (cog) button on Windows 10’s Start menu.

  2. Then click Privacy to open that part of Settings.

  3. Next, click Microphone on the left side of Settings.

  4. Toggle the Allow apps to access your microphone option on if it’s disabled.

  5. Scroll further down to toggle the Allow desktop apps to access your microphone setting on.

  6. Make sure that microphone access is specifically turned on for the MS Teams app listed within the Microphone Settings tab.

If Bluetooth headset is not working with Microsoft Teams, it’s possible that the app doesn’t have the permission to access your microphone, so be sure to change that.
